Our Services

Receiving

We receive, inspect and document your item's condition upon arrival. The item’s description, pictures and notes made at time of inspection are uploaded into Hallmark's customer portal so you may check the status of your items from your computer, phone, or tablet.
 

We carefully unwrap, photograph your item and then notify you of obvious shipping damage or manufacturer defects. We don’t ever want you to be surprised during an install because of the condition of an item.

Once your items are inspected, our highly-trained team will repackage and carefully store your pieces. We treat your items like they are our own and strive to deliver nothing but the best to you and your clients.

 

You are welcome to store your items here for as little or as long as your project requires. We offer temperature control upon request. To ensure the safety of your items, our building is equipped with state of the art security and a fire detection system.

Delivery

Once you and your team are ready for install, our staff will work with you to schedule a date and time, with as many or as little men that your job requires. Having a comprehensive listing of your items in our customer portal helps ensure a smooth process so that all items you are expecting will be delivered.

 

Then, our white-glove delivery teams will offload, open and place all of your items into their correct place. Our delivery professionals are trained to handle high-end furniture, unique accessories and more. We will assemble, install, and take all the trash away.

Upholstery Repair

Here at Hallmark Receiving, we're fortunate to have relationships with local furniture repair and upholstery professionals in the event you need an emergency repair. Repairs can be done right in our warehouse, which saves your items from having to travel offsite for any fixes.

We partner with Jill Wright of Simplified by Jill to help with organizing before, during or after your install. Is your client looking for help with decluttering before their renovation begins? Or, would they like help after their install to unpack and neatly arrange items in their new designated spaces? Or, would like an extra pair of hands to help on install day with arranging cabinets, closets, dressing beds, and more?  If so, Jill is here to help. We are happy to coordinate with Simplified by Jill on your behalf or you may reach out to her directly.

The Hallmark Difference

We have listened to our interior design clients over the years and have developed systems and processes to make your life easier.

  • A client portal to keep track of all your items, clients, and communications

  • Easy to contact office staff. We pride ourselves on our quick turnaround time for any and all requests. 

  • Complete unpacking and inspection upon receipt of your items. We aim for a 48 hour turnaround time from the arrival of your item to the notification you receive.

  • Careful, courteous, white glove delivery service.

  • A network of experts to ensure your damaged items are repaired and ready for install.

  • What does white-glove delivery entail?
    White-glove delivery means that our uniformed, professional delivery teams are experts at end-to-end handling of high-end goods, including case goods, upholstered items, unique accessories and more. They handle certain items with gloves and depending on the home, may wear booties over their shoes. We are prepped to dispose of all trash and leave homes the same as we find them. If there is ever an issue during an install, we maintain a can-do attitude and handle conversations discreetly with you - and never in front of your client.
  • Do you have climate control?
    We have a climate controlled area in our warehouse and offer this as an upgrade for your delicate items. We keep all blanket-wrapped, artwork, and antique items in our climate-controlled section of the warehouse. If there is ever a piece you would like to keep climate controlled, just let us know and we will make it happen.
  • What does "by appointment" mean for me?
    Freight carriers are required to have an appointment prior to delivery. By ensuring our number is on all your shipments, they will call and schedule with our office. We also require appointments for pick-ups and furniture viewings with you. We kindly request at least 24-hours notice and a confirmation that we are available to welcome you to our warehouse. We are happy to unpack and allow you, your client, or your repair person to inspect your items but our team needs ample notice to prepare before your visit. Please call or email our office to set up an appointment.
  • How does storage work? Billing?
    We bill receiving charges on a monthly basis - we try to get our invoices out by the 5th of the following month. Each receiving charge includes 31 days of storage in our facility. After that, each month an item is here, it will incur a storage fee equal to the receiving fee. We bill storage in a lump sum at time of install. We bill per item and send a total invoice at the close of your project. We accept checks, Venmo, or credit card payment through Paypal (Fees apply).
  • What is the best way to reach the office and/or delivery crews?
    We offer a convenient app for delivery reminders. The morning of your install you will receive an automated text message with a reminder of your delivery time window. Then, when our crew is en route to your destination, you will receive a second text with a link to view the truck's location in real-time. If you need to let them know something prior to, please call or email the office and we will be able to pass the message through.
  • What is your general response time?
    We are always available to our clients. We strive to answer all calls during business hours, but if we miss you, we will return your calls and/or email within 1 business day.
  • How far out do I need to book my delivery?
    For smaller installs (installs with 5 pieces or less), we are typically able to fit that in within 5 business days of request. Installs with more than five pieces, we are typically able to schedule within 7 business days. For full house or out of town installs, we request four weeks, or more, notice to help secure your preferred date. As always, the earlier the better to secure your desired date and time, but we always strive to make installs happen when you need them!
  • Do you provide rug pads?
    Yes. We partner with Hallmark Rugs and are able to provide tight-grip and fiber pads upon request. Just let the office know at least 72 hours prior to install and we will accommodate!
  • What is your service area?
    The majority of our installs take place in Richmond, Charlottesville, Northern Virginia (and Maryland) and Virginia Beach. However, our full service area spans the east coast from Florida to Maine and all points in between.
